High school student Takuya Seo regards himself as more than an ordinary otaku—he is a connoisseur of Glittermon, a niche anime aimed at younger audiences. Having been bullied in the past, Seo wishes to hide his unconventional interests from the people who simply do not understand, yet he cannot help but rave about what excites him before catching himself. A small misunderstanding leads Seo to mention Glittermon in front of his gyaru classmate Kotoko Ijichi. Unexpectedly, it catches the attention of Kei Amane, Ijichi's best friend, who proves to be familiar with the series. Rather than dismissing him, Amane instead helps bring Ijichi into the conversation as well—drawing Seo into an unexpected connection with the two classmates he had always assumed would never be kind to someone like him.
